Since 1980 Lafayette Dental Laboratory has been serving the needs of the dental profession in the Phoenix Arizona area. Rick Durkee started the laboratory with the help of Dr. James R. McDonald and Mr. Steve Severy to serve as members of the Society for Occlusal Studies doing complicated reconstruction cases. Rick purchased the lab from his partners and over the next 15 years the lab expanded to its current 6 employees and a new facility on Tatum Blvd in Phoenix.
The lab has always focused on occlusion and aesthetics and using the latest equipment to help us achieve those goals. The lab has 5 all ceramic systems to choose from like Procera, Empress, Finesse, Authentic and refractory. Only the finest materials are used in the construction of our PFM's like porcelains from Austria, Germany and Japan, both high and low fusing types.
Many thousands of dollars are spent each year on continuing education. Rick has written articles, lectured at many state meetings and at the AACD (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry) national meeting in Hawaii in 2002. He is presenting at the Cal lab meeting Feb 2007 during the Chicago Mid winter dental week.
